MINUTES OF MEETING june 7th, 2008 at the car club bbq

Present:

Financial Report: treasure is away so ther was no report

Old Business:

Flyers:  the cost difference between glossy and matte paper is 2 cents a copy.  Colour copies are more expensive than black and white.  The group decided that there will be a combination of both black and white posters and full colour posters for the picnic.  The colour posters will be used for things such as store display and the black and white posters will be handed out as flyers.  Brad, in conjunction with Judy, will make arrangements to have the posters printed before the next meeting.

Food:  Judy will arrange for food services for the car club picnic.  Information will be available at the July meeting.

T-shirts:  Judy will arrange for the t-shirts.  There will be a style for men and another style for women Car club members who want a t-shirt from the picnic in August, and were not at the car club BBQ Saturday, should call Judy before June 17^th and place an order.

Trophies:  Following a discussion of additional trophies, the group decided to get a quote from Omer regarding the cost of cutting metal car plaques as some of the event trophies.  Omer will contact Brad by June  14^th with a price and discuss which cars the Club would like done.

Prizes:  $146 was collected from KMS to use for a prize.  Don and Roman have items for the picnic.  The group has decided that aluminum floor jacks will be used for the raffle.  These will be purchased by Don and Ron.  It was decided that members can bring their collected prizes to the July meeting at Brad’s for Judy and Roman to take home so everything is in one place.  A VOLUNTEER IS NEEDED FROM THE CLUB TO GO AROUND AND PICK UP THE ITEMS THAT MARK HAS COLLECTED FOR THE PICNIC.  WOULD ONE OF THE GUYS CALL MARK ASAP so this can be completed before the July meeting.

Donations for charity:  some discussion took place regarding the past practice of collecting admission to the Club picnic.  Because there is no fence around the field, the group is deciding on how best to collect for charity.  One thought was to have a jar on a table for donations.  It was decided that a decision will be made at the July meeting which charity we will collect for.

For sale:  no one had any items for sale.  Oh, yah, Ron’s bumperettes.  He’s still looking for some.

Adjourned:  6:36pm and enjoyed the BBQ.  Thanks to Dick for hosting the event.  Your place looks great Dick!
